The truck was purchased in 1980. This truck was in service from 1978 until 1990 when it was parked by the elderly driver. The truck sat under a carport from 1990 until August 2021; then garage kept.

****RARE**** 1980 Dodge Li'l Express Truck Prototype $18,000
(Modified 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express used for product advertising)
The truck was used for press photos & sent to the 1980 long-lead press preview to be photographed
by Truck/Automotive magazines for their new car introduction issues. It was featured in "Hot Rod", Petersen's "Vans & Pickups", "Pickup Van & 4WD" & "Truckin" magazines & certainly others that I'm unaware of.
The '80 Little Express Truck package was in the original 1980 Dodge press release as well. Parts were procured, decals were made but to my knowledge, only the prototype was built. The program was canceled (allegedly due to poor sales, noise/emission standards & the economy) the truck vanished into the annals of history.
The truck is rough but restorable & appears to have the original drivetrain (less carb). It's missing the tailgate, correct stacks, TQ & correct rear window, otherwise appears to be original.
To me, one of the most (if not the most) significant trucks in express truck history, deserving a proper restoration & subsequent display. A very little known & long-forgotten piece of Chrysler's performance history.
note from John Roberts: I have personally examined this truck and its documentation and can verify that it was the truck used for Chrysler Corporation Prototype 1980 Dodge Li'l Express Truck.

This truck is a survivor and only has 25,000 original verifiable miles. The truck has been garage kept it's entire life. This truck was part of an estate and the truck has been titled in The Originals owner's name since 1979. This truck runs and drives perfect and the interior still appears as new.
To the best of my knowledge there is not a scratch on this truck, but it could use a really good wax job. Under the frame of this truck has no rust and is this clean as the day it rolled off of the factory floor. The bed floor is still painted the with the original red paint. I want this truck to go to someone who is going to appreciate it, for what it is. I have driven the truck approximately 650 miles, since it's revival.
